Almost Time for Week 1!

Whew! We just finished our Staff Training today around 12:30pm and we are so excited for the first week of campers! Yesterday we finished setting up most of the areas and then broke up into "dens" of our own staff to do a run through of our program. It was pretty fun to pretend to be campers while our new staff practiced being Den Chiefs. Today we played a bunch of games and practiced some skits to prepare for next week. Our staff was having so much fun and I just know that they will make your  Cub Scouts have a fantastic time at camp this summer! See some of you on Monday!

Staff Training: Day 1

What a beautiful day out at the Cub Scout Corral! Our staff gathered this morning at 9am to start our very first day of training. We have some returning staff as well as some new-comers this year. We took a tour of camp and learned about all the exciting programs being offered this summer. After lunch we started setting up camp! Everyone worked so hard and had a lot of fun while doing it. At this point we are about 80% done! Tomorrow we will meet again at 9am and get some important training done and finish setting up camp. We are all excited for the Cub Scouts to get here!

HOWDY!

HOWDY and welcome to our Cub Scout Day Camp Blog! We are so excited to be starting camp in just a few days. Tomorrow marks our first day of Staff Training. Our staff will be cleaning up camp, setting up the program areas, and learning how to be the best staff ever!

We have a lot to do to turn Treasure Valley into the Wild West Corral. Staff will be setting up targets for our BB gun and Archery programs, putting in docks for fishing at Nature and swimming at Waterfront, putting together our Bouldering Wall and Rock-throw areas, finding fun games to play at Sports, getting cooking supplies together for Scout Craft, and gathering art supplies for Handi-Craft. We will be learning camp songs to sing throughout the week and getting skits ready for our awesome campfire. I just know that this is going to be a great summer because, by the end of training, our staff will know exactly what to do to make your camp experience the best it can be.

For all of you campers coming to Treasure Valley Day Camp we have a special treat! When you come into camp and meet with your Den Chiefs, they will give you your very own cowboy hat so you can fit right in to our theme of Wild West! You will also get a super awesome t-shirt like I'm wearing below! Get ready for a jam-packed week at the Cub Scout Corral!

Also don't forget to check back here throughout the summer...we'll have pictures, videos, announcements, and daily news about all the awesome things we are doing at camp!

See ya soon!
